We've visited Elija's in Jasper, but this was the first time we ate at the Kirbyville location. From the time we walked in, just ahead of the lunch rush, our waitress, Karen, was very friendly, helpful and attentive -without being overly aggressive or imposing. She is a gem. My wife ordered the grilled catfish with okra and squash salad. She loved it ... cleaned her plate. Her friend got the pot roast with red beans and rice, as well as the fried apples. Again, she loved it. She ate everything. I got the veggie plate. Five veggies. They were all delicious, but I was unable to clean my plate. The portions were good and, frankly, more than I could eat. I got no dessert. They had a slice of coconut pie. Obviously it was also amazing. Priced very reasonable, I would recommend Elija's to anyone looking for good homestyle food.
My wife and I love Elijah's. We are new to Texas and the big city of Kirbyville. We discovered Elijah's early on and it is our #1 go to. The food is awesome, we gave it 4 Star's for food because it is not a 5 restaurant, needless to say the food is amazing. You cannot beat the prices. You will pay the same for restaurant quality food here as you would for fast food anywhere else. The staff gets 5's although they are not a five-star restaurant trained staff, they are however the most kind, considerate, caring and well raised group of young adults that you will ever meet. The pictures that I have submitted, do not do it justice. I did not remember to take out my camera until after I started eating, but that chicken fried chicken was huge and more than enough. Why take your wife and kids to a fast food junk food restaurant, when you can treat them to fine dining at Elijah's. A true family restaurant.

If I could give more Stars, I would! Kerri, the manager, and Mr. D, my waiter were exceptionally proficient, professional, and courteous. The food is amazingly flavorful and bountiful. I could not eat all that I ordered and will get to enjoy the rest of it later. I had heard such good things about Elijah's that I needed to experience it for myself. The experience was Outstanding! The only downside was that I couldn't try more things on the menu. I needed two stomachs to possibly satisfy all that I had in this visit. Well, another downside for me is that they are an hour away, but I will try to not let me visit sooner. Great, food, atmosphere, and great people! Thank you!

Don't be confused by the humble exterior. This place is amazing! They don't try to be anything fancy, the food is just what it says it is. The subtle art of comfort food shines here at Elijah's, a jewel of Kirbyville.
Love the place. Very clean! Fast service and great food, but our chicken tenders were kinda on the thin side!!! Haha, the pic. I posted is in the women's restroom, I thought it was a neat ideal!!!
I called just before closing time on a Sunday in hopes that it wouldn’t be a problem as I was ordering the fish... I received a warm welcome on the phone and was pleasantly surprised to hear that it was no problem at all. I was even thanked for my order. The food was great! Hot, fresh and tasty... The menus is reasonably priced and the the food is well worth it. They were out of baked potatoes for the night but was offered a substitution of loaded mashed potatoes that were every bit as satisfying. Dominik was very polite and cheerful and I can tell he is the right person for the job... I honestly can say that it would not surprise me if he isn’t in a management position if he were to pursue it. When I arrived the parking lot was empty and I could only see Dominik and one other individual inside. That didn’t seem to affect my service though. Dominik was just as pleasant as he was on the phone and very polite. Service with a smile!!! Elijah’s in Kirbyville in now my number 1 go to restaurant for take out. Y’all made a great first impression on me and I really appreciate that very much... Shout out to Dominik for his professionalism and work ethic. Keep up the fantastic work guys... I will see you soon...
